Well, I just sent the first draft of the LwB expansion (Tentatively titled: Secret Exhibitions) off to Leonizer. When I said I wanted to get this done by the weekend, I meant last weekend. C'est la vie.
Actually, that's one of the primary reasons I started this blog, so I could keep myself motivated and keep track of time. I'm actually pretty terrible at time management.
Like the title suggests the last things to finish up where the sex
scenes, and the jokes. Jokes are murder to write, and fortunately I
only had to write three of them for one small bit of gameplay involving
the phone. Yes, our heroes are that immature.
I pretty much already explained what happens next. I wait, write any new content that I'm asked to, wait some more, then do testing for every scene, making changes as needed, and repeat that process until the game is published.
Even after publishing, there have been times where we've need to make changes to the script, so it's really not finished until my OCD says it's good enough.
That's all for now!
hmm just wondering.from the post lwb/exp sounds almoust bigger then the original LwB. could you put a frame on them. 1)bigger 2)a bit smaller 3)about the same size. ?
ReplyDeleteTo give you a rough idea of the size of the expansion, the original LwB had about 1,000 lines of dialogue, and the expansion has about 500. Yes, there are new endings.
DeleteI see thank you for a quick response. Also I understand your a script writer/tester. so as a writer what are your insparations? were do you get all the ideas for scripts? :)
ReplyDeleteFor most of the LoP games, a lot of the script ideas are based on the pre-rendered scenes and any other ideas that are written down in what I guess you could call the pre-script script. It's very much like storyboarding.
DeleteAs for inspiration, I've read a lot. Mostly I read non-fiction these days, but I am heavily into sci-fi as well. When I was a kid I did a ton of writing up until High School where I had a bad experience with a teacher that made me not care about writing anymore. Fortunately, I had some pretty awesome teachers in college and I got back into writing there.
The world is a pretty interesting place, and you can find inspiration almost anywhere. Of course, a pretty girl doesn't hurt either.
